Alvaro Gonzales (Executive Restaurant Chef), originally a member of The Marriott’s culinary team, took the reigns of RIPTIDE in 2002 and designed the new “Pacific Rim Chophouse” style for Riptide. RIPTIDE was opened in the summer of 2002 and has grown into the largest individual sushi restaurant in Southern California.
